Firstly, a few words from Rina of SESI to mark Fairtrade Fortnight...Since 2006 SESI have supplied fairtrade goods - not just labelled fairtrade but those in transition (when farmers can't afford certification) - goods produced by cooperatives in small scale which benefit their communities. What fairtrade goods can you refill with SESI? Sugar (various types), tea bags, cocoa powder, hot chocolate, olive oil (Zaytoun), dried mango and dates, brazil nuts (from Bolivia where they actually come from!), cashews, sesame seeds (whole and hulled), quinoa, Basmati and Jasmine rice (brown and white). To support Palestinian Farmers who work hard to keep on farming and protect the social fabric of their ancestry we sell Fairtrade-Organic Zaytoun Olive Oil at cost price.
We are very lucky to have yet another new stall with us this week: Homemade in Oxfordshire with their delicious jams, marmalades and chutneys. Plantation Chocolates are back - they will be taking orders for Eggs and Gift boxes of chocolates for Easter. They will next return on Easter Saturday, 26th March.
And finally, after Josh's excellent talk last week in the market café about the ups and downs of running a microdairy, they are our Featured Stall today. If you missed the talk read more about this fantastic local dairy below.
