Market News

Our big tenth anniversary market is coming up next Saturday 17th September. There will be loads of great stalls, live music from Willowbrook Farm's own 'Adam Latif trio', free tea and birthday cake (made by our own Nodene Shand) and the unveiling of our special edition birthday mugs - designed by the children of East Oxford Primary School. It will be a great moment to celebrate what has been built over the last ten years. There will be a ribbon cutting by ten people reprersenting the traders, volunteers and customers who have collectively created our much loved local market at 10am so please do come to be part of this if you can. We will also be running a stall indoors on the day asking people for their best market moments of the last ten years. We have an event on Facebook here - please do invite your friends and family along too.

Over to this week's market and it is yet another fantastic display of what is baked, grown, reared and cooked within 30 miles of our city by talented and passionate people. Sandy Lane Farm will have fruit, veg and meat; Chillis 2 U will have sauces, chutneys and plants and Salad Daze will have another dazzling array of salads outside. See above for the full list.

This week's Featured Trader, North Aston Dairy, always have much more thasn just milk - usually cream, yoghurt, ice cream and often rose veal. This week they have fresh beef offal - incredibly nutritious and tasty. Here are the Guardian's ten best offal recipes with some inspiration for using all those bits which shouldn't go to waste.

Are you volunteering or working in the community to support others? Or perhaps you are campaigning against government cuts? Maybe you are protesting against environmental destruction? This autumn we are inviting people to come together over 7 evenings to explore tools and strategies for being strong and resilient in these hard times, knowing that the work we do together will in turn strengthen our communities. Find out more about the course here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2059013554324568/#.
