This week we welcome the return of Chillies2U with chillies to warm you on cold January nights. Hempen’s range of locally grown hemp products are becoming a regular at the market and we see them back again this week. We also have the usual regulars selling organic favourites of fresh veg, fruit, and a variety of meat, including Willowbrook farm who are now back to their full pre-Christmas range or eggs, chicken, and meats. And we can’t forget the wonderful Café Asia where you can take a break from shopping to sample their delicious food.

A reminder that January is membership renewal time – thank you to everyone who has already renewed and we’ll have membership information on the Farmers’ Market stall, as well as our lovely 10th anniversary mugs to sell. CAG Project is working on a thermal imaging project in East Oxford with 4 “Low Carbon” groups in East Oxford to help people understand more about energy efficiency in the home, save money and reduce their carbon footprint. Barracks Lane Community Garden are asking people for their thoughts, suggestions and ideas for the future of the garden. They will be holding a meeting to discuss these ideas in January and will be coming up with a plan of what to focus on in 2017 and beyond. Project SOUP is back on 22 January. 2017 - 7pm, East Oxford Community Centre at 7:00pm for soup, music and engagement with local community projects. Four projects aiming to make a difference within the local community, will tell you about themselves and what they would do with funding; you vote for your favourite. There’s a recommended entry donation of £4, which all goes to the charity project you choose to support.
